The Yard Hostel - Catania

As a seasoned traveler, I was hesitant to try a hostel after 10 years. However, The Yard exceeded my expectations. The location is perfect, just a short walk to the center and very safe. The decor and cleanliness of the rooms and bathrooms were impressive. The staff was fantastic, offering great assistance in organizing my trip to Mount Etna. The kitchen had everything I needed, and having a bar downstairs was a convenient perk.

The hostel was beautifully designed and looked exactly like the pictures. The rooms were spacious and the beds were super comfortable with private curtains for added privacy. I loved the relaxed and social atmosphere, with a nice bar that wasn't too loud. It was easy to meet new people and make friends. The owners were friendly and had put a lot of thought into every detail of the hostel. The complimentary breakfast and fresh coffee in the morning were a great start to the day. Although there were a few minor issues like the lack of a lock in the closet and the need for better ventilation, overall I had a fantastic stay. I would definitely recommend this hostel to anyone looking for a cozy and stylish place to stay in Catania.

Limited privacy in the toilets.

I really got my money's worth at The Yard Hostel. The room was cozy and the beds were comfortable. The location was perfect, right on top of the main street. The staff treated me like family, especially Alessia who offered me an olive in the lobby.

The only thing that could have made breakfast better was a wider selection of options.

The Yard Hostel is the best place to stay in Catania! The staff, Alessya, Carlo, Salvo, and Jonni. The vintage retro decor is inspiring and fun. The cleanliness is better than any 5-star hotel. The double bunk beds are comfy and the facilities are top-notch. My sister and I had the best stay in Sicily at The Yard. We loved the beautiful vintage decor, amazing bathroom, and kitchen. Grazie mille per tutto Alessya. We'll be back!

Slow service at the bar.

I stayed at this amazing hostel for a few nights and it was a little piece of paradise. The owner, Alessia, made me feel so comfortable and the other guests were like a big family. The rooms were perfect and highly clean, and the drinks and wines were great and affordable. I met so many new people and we spent most of our time at the hostel because it was so nice. Would recommend this place to everyone. Don't miss out!

No outside alcohol allowed, bar prices were high and attracted non-guests, lack of air circulation in rooms, disinterested staff.

the yard hostel in catania was even better than my previous stay. from the moment i checked in, the staff was cheerful and helpful, making me feel welcome. the hostel had a great vibe, with spacious and comfortable beds, clean facilities, and a lovely common area. i loved the attention to detail in the decor. definitely a place i would stay at again!

The staff at this hostel were amazing! The beds were also a big plus, they were huge and much more comfortable than what you usually find in hostels. the hostel had a great vibe and created a welcoming atmosphere for all guests. The wifi was also excellent, which was a huge bonus for staying connected during my trip.

While I overall had a great experience, there were a few minor downsides. I would have liked to see more outlets in the rooms, especially for someone like me who travels with multiple electronic devices.

my recent stay in catania was amazing, but this time at yard hostel exceeded all expectations! the beds were huge and super comfy, the showers and bathrooms were great, and the staff was incredibly helpful. the hostel's central location made it easy to explore, and the cozy terrace was a perfect spot to relax with a morning coffee. yard hostel is definitely my go-to in catania!
